50's-60's Love-In Service

Webster Groves Christian Church, 1320 West Lockwood (just west of Berry Road), St. Louis MO 63122

This Sunday morning Webster Groves Christian Church will present a service focusing on popular tunes of the 1950's and 1960's whose theme was love, concern, brotherhood. Members of Wind of the Spirit praise band, in which I am a member, will sing and play this music in the original styles. The always excellent and powerful messages from Rev. Jeff Moore will be based around this music. We hope some of you who have not experienced our warm and beautiful sanctuary will join us for this unique worship experience. As the song says, "All Are Welcome Here!" And of course we hope to see all our wonderful members and friends.

Two Times True at the Kinda Blue!

 —  —

Kinda Blue Club, 6101 1/2 Idaho (at Fillmore), St. Louis MO

We look forward to returning to the Kinda Blue--a totally friendly, relaxed venue in south St. Louis hosted by a great couple, Larry and Mary Fuchs. BYOB and snacks, $10 goes to the band. Larry Johnson--saxophones; Carolbeth True--keys; Dave True--drums; Glen Smith--bass. We'll mix styles, present some new things not played yet at the Kinda Blue--we do hope you'll join us!

Carolbeth is a cornerstone of the St. Louis jazz scene, but also one of the hardest working jazz educators this town has ever seen! Her quartet Two Times True features three of the city’s most notable players, Dave True, Glen Smith and Larry Johnson. Their work together shows Carolbeth’s playing in a very powerful light.”
